• Incorporated in 1851.

• First Kincardine Fall Fair was held in 1852 possibly south of Russell Street.

• In late 1800’s it moved near the Kincardine Cemetery of the south side of town.

• Originally held on the 3rd Friday of September until 1969 when the date was changed to Labour Day weekend, depriving the parade of large numbers of marching school children who also presented a number, singing from each school.

• Harness racing a major part of the fair until the 1970’s.

• At one point the fair moved to Lansdowne Park along the lake before moving to its present location at Connaught Park.

• In 1886, a new two-story hall was built complete with a balcony for speeches.

• This was replaced in 1951 with a 30’x90’ one story building.

• In 1982, the Connaught Park Pavilion was erected after the Agricultural Society members dismantled the old one. The official opening of the building took place in September 1983.

• CKNX radio station was first used for advertising by the Kincardine Agricultural Society/Fall Fair in 1938 and has continued to present day fairs.

• Beginning in July 1961, Kincardine Agricultural Society and Kincardine Chamber of Commerce jointly sponsored ‘Town and Country Days’ for 12 years. Originally on Lambton Street, at the Kincardine Arena and later moving to Victoria Park. Local farmers trucked cows to Victoria Park to be milked by the Dairy Princess contestants. A chicken barbecue was a feature in 1967 with 2000 in attendance. Other highlights included pie eating contests, Kincardine Scottish Pipeband and a Monster Street Dance.

• From 1964 until the late 1990’s Paul Riddell Stunt Drivers wowed crowds as the Friday night feature.

• The Centennial Fair was held in 1958. Cut field stone gates were erected at a cost of $7173. These gates were dismantled in 2018???to make enter/exiting the fairgrounds easier.

• For many years, the Kincardine Agricultural Society hosted a Spring Variety Show at the former Kincardine Town Hall featuring local talents of all ages.

• 1985 was the first year for the popular Bale Throwing Competition at the fair.

• 1992 bungie jumping makes an appearance at the annual fall fair!

• In 2019 the Grandstand is removed from Connaught Park due to underuse and disrepair

• 2020 the first ever Virtual Kincardine Fall Fair takes place of a traditional in person fall fair due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.

• 2020 Kincardine Agricultural Society wins the Kincardine Chamber of Commerce ‘’Ag related Business Award for our pivot to a Virtual Fall Fair.

• 2021 followed the same course as the year before as the pandemic continued.

• 2022 return to a traditional fall fair is planned with the theme is ‘Back in the Saddle’.
